His presidency will be better than left wingers anticipate, but not as good as right wingers predict. Most of his controversial promises were pure demagoguery, not much to worry about.
Right Wingers will be happy to have just a few of their dreams fulfilled and the anticipation of Left Wingers is plenty accurate short of nuclear war with Russia.
Trump is being puppeteered by his VP and his staff who will make the important decisions for him. The people he has placed in office are horrendous to anyone who knows the most basic thing about the alt-right.
He is unprepared to be president??, so were most presidents, and somehow we made it through. We will be fine. Pendulums always come back from their highest positions.
I think that the gulf between Trump's unpreparedness and those who are much better than he is gross just by virtue of his character. He will learn nothing from his Presidency just as he has learned nothing of importance from the human race.
As for the pendulum swinging, just imagine it heading straight for you as in a ball breaker.
No, we will not be fine.

Looking for a Book on Evolution
by Saethydd ini am wondering if anyone is aware of a book or series of videos designed to explain evolution to creationists, (specifically the jw strain of creationism if possible) without being patronizing or overly confrontational.
i would like to have something to recommend to people who challenge evolution, but i know that the sources which convinced me would turn most of them off because of the confrontational and at times condescending tone in which it's presented.. some examples of what i'm looking for would be someone who doesn't claim evolution is a fact until after they have presented all of the evidence that makes it a fact and also have addressed as many counter-arguments as possible..

First, your patronizing language says something about you. Saying "materialistic scientists" you sound like Donald Trump when he says "The Blacks".
and they cannot give me one positive mutation from any species that caused a positive change for survival.
Second, that knowledge is known by a few experts in biology. I've seen many examples of genetic change given in which the specific mutation is linked to a specific position in chromosome.

This book is about the talking points that Creationists make and the response that science gives. Its 500 pages long in oversize pages. Very well written and worth its price:

Paul did not belittle women
by Doug Mason ini note the recent post that quoted 1 timothy 2:11-12 and colossians 1:23 which place women at a level that is lower to men.
the poster accused paul of this mysoginy, but that is not correct.. 1 timothy, 2 timothy, titus, colossians, ephesians and hebrews were written after paul's death.. paul was not a mysoginist; he made full use of women in leadership roles.
he wrote that in god's sight there is neither male nor female, for all are one in god's sight.. doug.

Occupations that will disappear
by joker inwhile growing up in the cult one thing that always bothered me was the way witnesses could forecast jobs/occupations that we're going to vanish in their new world.. for example, we would usually discuss at saturday night wt studies how doctors, nurses, funeral directors, and soldiers would go the way of the dodo.
i always found discussions like that just so strange.. in hs, i mounted an unsuccessful effort to enter veterinary sciences, the big answer was always "why" it won't be needed after armageddon 😝😜.
does anyone have their own story about professions that the witnesses believe will not be needed after the big a ?.

Charles Russell was very explicit as to what, when, and how things would happen. He wrote it in explicit detail in his six books Studies in the Scriptures:
- 1799 - 1914: The time of the end. The last days.
- 1874 - 1914: The battle of Armageddon. It was supposed to start as a slow motion social Armageddon accelerating to a peak by 1914. Religion would be overthrown; communists and anarchists would be causing disruption; and pure chaos and destruction would culminate by 1914 (No earthquakes, world wars or other pyrotechnics like the JWs current pyrotechnics).
- 1914: The beginning of the Millennium. All nations would be overthrown by then and Jesus' reign of peace would commence.
